Alwen's Promise is designed as a small & reserved
space amidst the natural bounty of the Layou Valley and adjacent to the
Layou River. The project is owned by locals and is an eco-villa with
just three rooms, to begin with. Expansion will round out a ten rooms.
The lodging is located in a traditional banana, coffee and cocoa
agricultural area and is adjacent to a local farm where one can savor
fresh organically grown fruit. The project uses solar power for
electricity, maintains its own organic vegetable and fruit tree
plantings, conserves energy and resources, and engages in assisting
local reforestation and nature preservation. The project also seeks to
promote the heritage of the area, is within walking distance of fresh
water bathing, hot springs, trips to the new Miracle Lake (formed in
1997), bird watching and rainforest hiking.
Simply relax and enjoy the natural environment
and home-made meals. The Nature Island Culinary Institute which will
use the site for its promos will allow you to explore the abundance of
diverse local ingredients and learn new cooking techniques.
